Faith Presbyterian Church
Three members from our congregation, Brenda Harrelson, Jerry Shaufelberger and Junus de Queljoe, were among the nine Presbyterians that traveled to the Diamond Head, Miss. area in April to help rebuild homes and lives. This was the effort of the Savannah Presbytery's Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
The Pentecost Offering is traditionally received on the day of Pentecost (May31, 2009). This provides a direct way to meet the needs of children, youth, and young adults at risk. Congregations are encouraged to keep 40 percent of the Offering to support ministry of children at risk in their communities. Please give generously.
Several of Faith's members are dedicating their time and finances to Habitat for Humanity's special project, "The House Christ Built". Please join us and other Effingham County Churches in this effort. To find out more about Habitat for Humanity and their efforts in Effingham County please visit their website by clicking on their logo.
This Offering is usually collected on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, while some congregations receive this offering throughout Lent.
The Presbyterian Hunger Program receives 36 percent of undesignated One Great Hour of Sharing gifts, while the Self-Development of People and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance each receives 32 percent.
